FORMSTORY is a quarterly print and digital magazine that explores the ways people are inspired by each other. Artists, writers, chefs, illustrators, musicians, performer, designers, photographers, comedians, cartoonists, dancers and all other types of artists create work inspired by each other, forming a unique story that follows a theme for every issue.
Think of it like a game of telephone (you know, that game you used to play when you were 6 years old). Each issue starts with someone making something to do with that issue's theme. Then different creators react to each others work, creating an evolving narrative.
For example:
A painter creates a series of portraits that relate to identity.
A poet writes 3 poems that are a reaction to the portraits, still relating to identity.
A chef creates ice-cream recipes inspired by the poems, still relating to identity.
A dancer choreographs a piece inspired by the recipes, still relating to identity.
A photographer captures a series of images inspired by the dance, still relating to identity.
And so on, until we have filled the issue!
